Squirrels collect food year-round, however they may well be more active within their food collecting process in the fall just before the wintertime. Squirrels are certainly not the selfish animals think them to be; in reality the contrary is true. Squirrels will warn others of the danger after they think danger is near. Instead of running away, the squirrel who sends that signal is often the someone to leave the area last.
